Singapore is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Asia, known for its blend of diverse cultures and rich history. Located in Southeast Asia, the country offers a variety of experiences for tourists. To visit Singapore, travelers typically need a tourist visa with a duration of 30 days and a validity of up to 2 years. However, individuals holding a multiple-entry visa do not need to apply for a tourist visa.

Eligibility Criteria

Singapore’s immigration system has categorized visa-required nationals into two groups. Passport holders from these countries can easily obtain their visa within a day by printing out the e-visa. Exceptions apply for North Koreans and non-ordinary passport holders from these countries, who do not require a visa.

  • Assessment Level I Countries: Citizens from these countries must obtain a visa online through a local Singaporean contact, a Singapore diplomatic mission, or authorized immigration agents outside the country.
  • Non-Ordinary Passports: Holders of diplomatic, official service, or similar passports from countries like Jordan, Bangladesh, Tunisia, and Morocco are exempt from visa requirements.
  • Visa-Free Visits: Citizens not included in the Assessment Level I and II lists are allowed visa-free visits for up to 30 days. Some passport holders may be eligible for stays of up to 90 days.

Documents Required

To apply for a Singapore tourist visa, applicants must provide the following:

  • A duly filled visa application form.
  • A passport with at least 6 months validity.
  • Clear photocopies of the passport’s first, last, and observation pages.
  • Two recent passport-sized color photographs.
  • A copy of the invitee’s passport.
  • The applicant’s bank statement from the last 6 months.
  • A confirmed return air ticket (if applicable).
  • A covering letter that includes the purpose of the visit, travel dates, number of passengers, itinerary details, place of stay in Singapore, and the applicant’s employment information. Any non-English documents must be translated and notarized.

The Singapore High Commission does not process work passes, which must be submitted directly by employers to the Singapore Ministry of Manpower.

Applicants should carefully review all details to ensure there are no mistakes, as errors could invalidate the application. Finally, the required documents must be uploaded to support the visa application.

The cost of a Singapore tourist visa varies based on the processing time:

  • Standard Processing (72 hours): $55
  • Rush Processing (24 hours): $87
  • Super Rush Processing (18 hours): $122

Processing Time

The processing time for a Singapore visa depends on the type chosen and the location of application. For Indian citizens, it generally takes 7 to 10 working days. However, it is recommended to apply at least 30 days before the intended travel date to avoid any last-minute delays.
